Stewarding

Fair Racing, Every Lap

Fair racing is the foundation of the Rivals Cup. Our dedicated stewarding team ensures that every incident is reviewed with care, consistency, and context — so you can focus on what matters: racing.

How It Works

The Rivals Cup takes a proactive approach to stewarding:

  • An in-house steward team reviews full race replays after every round
  • There are no driver-submitted incident reports — the stewards watch everything
  • This removes the politics and confrontation from the process. No finger-pointing, no lobbying. The stewards see it all
Human-Reviewed, Always

Every incident in the Rivals Cup is reviewed by real people, not automated systems. Our stewards consider the full racing context — track position, closing speeds, weather conditions, and the flow of the race — before making any judgment.

Contact alone does not equal a penalty. Racing is racing. But dangerous, reckless, or unsportsmanlike driving will always be addressed.

Penalty Framework

Our penalty system is adapted from the LFM (Low Fuel Motorsport) model — a well-established and widely respected framework in the sim racing community. Drivers know what to expect, and penalties are applied consistently.

Penalties range from time additions (+5s to +20s) for on-track incidents through to disqualification and bans for serious or intentional misconduct.

For the full penalty breakdown, see the Rules & Regulations page.

Race Commission

Issues that fall outside the written rules — edge cases, unusual circumstances, or matters of interpretation — are resolved by the Rivals Cup Race Commission.

The Race Commission's decisions are final. Their role is to ensure that the spirit of fair competition is upheld, even in situations the rulebook doesn't explicitly cover.
