Welcome to the Cup Series, presented by JT Racing as part of the Smoky Mtn Sim Racing community. This iRacing oval series is designed for drivers who crave authentic, high-level competition on the virtual track. To ensure a professional racing environment, the series is open to drivers with an iRating of 1500 and above. This requirement helps maintain a field of skilled competitors who understand the nuances of oval racing and respect the standards of our community. We race every Thursday night, offering a consistent home for your mid-week racing fix. Join a dedicated group of sim racers as we battle for the checkered flag in one of the most competitive environments on the service.

League Rules & Details

Overview

League Overview SMSR is a sim racing league, inside of iRacing. We participate in the top NASCAR series and run a 17 race schedule. Races will be running weekly. The schedule put out by SMSR admins in the discord, when affected by a national holiday, server issues, or tracks that are not currently on the iRacing service. An off-season schedule is also available after each regular and playoff season is concluded. Races are held 1 day a week, Thursday (Cup Series)

4. Team Points and Explanation -Maximum of 6 Drivers per Team for scoring -Minimum of 2 Drivers per Team for scoring -Team Points Scoring -Each member will get points on finishing order (no stage points) -Team points will be added up and then averaged, based on top 2 finishing drivers -Must have at least 2 driver -Overall, Team Champion, will be crowned at the end of the 2026 Season

Season Awards (Depending on Years Income and Budget)

1. Best of the Rest Championship (Non-Playoff Drivers) All drivers who do not qualify for the playoffs will automatically compete in the “Best of the Rest” Championship, which will run through the final 5 races of the season. At the conclusion of the season finale, the Best of the Rest Champion will receive either: Free entry into the following season, or

A custom 3D-printed trophy (winner’s choice).

Season Championship Payouts (Playoff Drivers) Based on a 30-car field, prize payouts will be: 🥇 1st Place Champion: $250 🥈 2nd Place: $175 🥉 3rd Place: Entry fee returned ⚠️ All payout amounts are based on a 30-car field and are subject to increase or adjustment depending on total entries.

Race Procedure

Document session start procedure, grid formation, rolling or standing start rules, restart policy, pit requirements, fast rSMSR Race Day Rules and Procedures 1. Practice Procedures - During any official SMSR practice session, driver conduct is expected to follow race day procedures - Any intentional wrecking or intentional disruption as determined by race officials will result in penalties, or removal from the upcoming/next event, and removal from the league -Banners are mandatory! Drivers seen without a banner will be assessed a warning for first offense, then after that it will be a 3 points penalty! 2. Drivers Meeting - Will occur during the 5-minute warm up session (There shall not be any cars on track during this 5- minute session) This is happen upon grid during road course events ( Due to 10 minute qualifying) - Please listen as it will contain vital information, such as stage break for the race along with reminders that will assist your strategy planning and voiding penalties - This information is not required to be repeated

Banners are mandatory! Drivers seen without a banner will be assessed a warning for first offense, then after that it will be a 3 points penalty! 3. Start of Race Guidelines - The driver who earns the pole position has the option of lane choice, and is the control car. Race starts on the iRacing green - 2nd place Driver during start must maintain speed to not jump start, all starts/restarts will be reviewed in race (black flag if found in violation of this rule) - The third-place car and all cars with an odd number starting positions after will start on the inside column/lane. The fourth and all even numbered starting positions after will start on the outside column/lane. As directed by iRacing - You are required to start where you qualify, no EOLs will be given - No lane change until your car crosses the start/finish line on the initial start of the race, if caught doing so during the event, black flag will be issued (unless Race Control deems you are trying to avoid a wreck) - The apron is out of bounds until after the start/finish line, if caught doing so during the event, black flag will be given (black flag if found in violation of this rule) - The field must maintain pace car speed within +/- 4 MPH while pacing to the green - On the start, drivers must maintain within one car length from the driver in front of them.

4. Restart Guidelines - The leader has the option of lane choice and is the control car. Lead car will restart the race at their discretion once in the Geico Restart Zone, or iRacing green will start the restart - 2nd place Driver during restart must maintain speed to avoid a jumping the start, all starts/restart will be reviewed in race review (black flag if found in violation of this rule) - Exception to the Restart Zone rule will be announced during Driver Meetings if restart zone does not apply - No lane change will be allowed until your car crosses the start/finish line for the restart of the race (black flag if found in violation of this rule. Unless, Race Control deems you were trying to avoid a wreck) - The apron is out of bounds until after the start/finish line (black flag if found in violation of this rule) - The field must maintain pace car speed within +/- 4 MPH while pacing to the restart. - On all the restarts, drivers must maintain within one car length from the driver in front of them.

5. Stage Break - Announced before the race and included with the drivers meeting - Pit Road will close 2 laps before the stage break - The caution will be thrown at the conclusion of the stage lap (If a caution were to be within 5 laps, or less, of the stage, the last completed green lap will become the scoring marker for the stage break) - Stage scoring will be processed through iRacing scoring system by lap

6. Cautions - Cautions will be ON for all SMRS events (Road Course-will be local cautions only, except for Stage Break) - If iRacing does not throw a caution for an incident involving 2 or more drivers in the same incident, call it out to the race admin. - Lucky Dog and Wave around will be managed by iRacing. (No admin wave arounds will be given) -All cautions will be reviewed, by Race Control, If found at fault you will receive an EOL or post-race and penalties could be applied. - If you are found at fault for the caution you will be given an EOL( End Of Line) penalty. 2nd at fault will result in a drivethrough black flag ( MUST SERVE UNDER GREEN). 3rd at fault incident you will be DQ’d from the race session and extra penalty may follow post race after admins review( Can be a points penalty, probation, or suspension.)

7.Final Lap Incident Rule - Last lap incident will be reviewed immediately after the race, for any malicious intent - If driver is found guilty of intentionally wrecking another driver on the final lap, they will be given a penalty of last car on their respective lap - While the driver that caused the incident will be given a penalty, anyone that is caught up in said incident, will not be given any advancement of positions, other than being scored ahead of driver that caused issues

8. Damaged Car Guidelines - In the event of loss of car power (out of fuel, blown engine, etc.) the driver is expected to tow back to the pits as soon as possible or request an EOL to prevent others from receiving a black flag. (Failure to follow this request, end of lead lap penalty can be applied) - If the car is under its own power but unable to maintain a reasonable caution pace, the driver must immediately request EOL to prevent penalizing other drivers catching up to the field. You may continue to pit road on the apron or off the racing surface. (Failure to follow this request, end of lead lap penalty can be applied) - No pushing of disabled cars is allowed (Failure to follow this request, end of lead lap penalty can be applied)

9. Pitting - Drivers are not to drive through more than 3 pit stalls when entering or leaving their pit stall on pit road, if caught doing so during the event, a black flag will be given. - When entering pit road, drivers are to remain single file in outer most lane to allow all drivers to find their pit stall.(Failure to do so will result in a EOL) - Unsafe pit entry/exit will incur an iRacing black flag that will not be cleared by Admins

10. Black Flags - Black Flags will be issued by iRacing for in race infractions - Admins will issue Black Flags per the rules -Blacks must be served under GREEN FLAG CONDITIONS -Failure to do so will result in the default iRacing penalty, DQ

11. Black Flag Clearing - IF A BLACK FLAG IS ASKED TO BE REMOVED IT IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE RC AFTER REVIEW

12. Points Calculator -Points will be calculated following the real-life NASCAR system -Including Stage points, stage wins, and Playoff formula -Points will be updated in following day after completion of the race week -Points will be shared through discord, points tab, to Sim Racer Hub

13. Stage Racing -Stage break (lap) will be predetermined, prior to the event and follow the same structure as NASCAR noted below: 1) 10 points 2) 9 points 3) 8 points 4) 7 points 5) 6 points 6) 5 points 7) 4 points 8) 3 points 9) 2 points 10) 1 point - The stage results will be determined by running order at the end of the declared stage end. There will be a caution thrown for the stage after the leading car crosses the line.

14. Other Race Day Procedures - If a race has completed more than 50% of the scheduled distance and there is an error within the server, the results will be considered final, and the race will not be rescheduled or continued. - If you elect to drive on the apron you have to yield to traffic in the racing line when rejoining the track. - At Drafting Tracks, no advancing your position below the yellow line. Failure to yield any gained positions within one lap will result in a penalty (Failure to follow this request, black flag penalty will be applied) - Excessive blinking/connection - Issue verbal warning for 1st and 2nd infraction - Parked in pits for 3rd infraction - Booted from server on 4th infraction - When the checkered flag has been taken, please start to reduce speed and if you are not a top 3 finisher, report to pit road immediately after the race. If you are a top 3 finisher, please continue back around the track and park your cars at the start finish line for a photo to be used for social media.

15. Incident System * SMSR will track in-race incidents as they happen, cautions and last lap incidents only (if RC is not present in any given race, race will be reviewed, later, before the next event) * - There could be in-race penalties (Black Flag/EOL/DQ) accessed if: - Aggressive driving with intent, causing a caution (RC discretion) - Repeat offences by the same competitor, causing a caution (RC discretion) - Excessive loss of car control, causing a caution, repeat self-spinners (RC discretion) ** If the Admins find a Driver to be reckless and disrespectful toward another driver, warned or not, Admins reserves all rights to remove said driver from the race at that very moment and then review all incidents, post-race, to make a long-term decision on that driver’s attendance to the league, going forward. -All decisions by either Race Control or an Admin are FINAL! Arguing with Race control or an Admin in a race session will result in Verbal warning Drive will be mute until Race Control or an Admin unmute them Remove from the race

Communication 1. In-Race Communication - All drivers are required to have a mic and must monitor iRacing driver’s voice channel - There is a league Discord server. Drivers are encouraged to use this server for communication between teams and to not flood the iRacing chat with strategy and allow for drivers to communicate race information (pit stops, spotting, and accidents). You are not required to use Discord in race but are encouraged to allow the broadcast team to interview you. - Arguing, directed profanity, harassment, or insulting of any driver is not permitted. If you have a concern regarding another driver or on-track incident, please contact an Admin after the race. Any driver found to be abusing this rule will be punished with: Verbal warning to start, if that is not the end of it and harsh communications continue, admins can/will remove guilty Driver

2. Off-Track Communications -Our private Discord will be the main source of communication between the League Admins and Drivers. -All drivers are required to use their iRacing name and car number on the Discord server ( John Doe #00). This helps the League Admin Staff and broadcasters know who is who. -Race detail changes will be communicated via Discord at least 24 hours before the drop of the green flag if any changes are necessary. -Any arguing, harassment, insulting behavior in off track communication areas will be subject to punishment, admins can/will remove guilty Driver

SMSR Cup Series Rules and Guidelines 1. Race Settings - There will be 40 open spots to grid - 50% Laps of real-life scheduled event - Fuel capacity 75%- 1.5 miles tracks and under 85%- Super Speedways

- Tire set to 6 per race (1 on car to start race, 5 in the pits) - 8:00pm est-50-minute practice to start each event - 8:55pm est-5-minute warm-up (Only on Ovals), driver announcements and meeting/admin setting line up for current race based on, 40 Driver field, - 9:00pm est-5-minute qualifying (10-minute Road Courses) - 9:05pm est-Green Flag - 1 Stage Break ( Will be announced at least 24 hours before the race starts and in the driver’s meeting) - Setups will be fixed, by iRacing, for the field - Weather will be set to realistic, for all events

2. Qualifying Procedures - Qualifying is mandatory at all SMSR events - If a driver has an invalidated qualifying lap time, or has other technical issues while attempting, alert RC or admin team immediately, to avoid penalties or disqualification - No going below the double yellow line during qualifying, If Race Control or an Admin see you doing this you will be given a EOL penalty to start the race. - Max field size will be limited to 40 cars (based on real life rules) epairs, fuel limits, tyre limits, and finish procedure.

Stewarding

6.
